In a tragic turn of events, a female cheetah named Daksha, translocated from South Africa to Madhya Pradesh's Kuno National Park (KNP), has died. This marks the third death of a cheetah in the park, following the demise of a female and male cheetah on March 27 and April 23, respectively. The monitoring team discovered Daksha in an injured state early in the morning and promptly administered medical attention. Despite their best efforts, she passed away around noon. The rapid succession of cheetah deaths at KNP has raised concerns about the animals' safety in the national park. The government initiated the translocation of cheetahs from Africa to India as part of a larger effort to reintroduce the species into the wild. Cheetahs were declared extinct in India during the 1950s, and the recent deaths cast doubt on the success of the program's current approach.
