Early morning tensions prevailed in Pudimadaka village of Achyutapuram constituency in Anakapalli district as YSRCP MLA Kannababu Raju faced protest from fishermen and Telugu Desam leaders during his visit to the Gadapa Gadapaku programme. According to YSRCP leaders, a package was announced for the fishermen for the construction of APIIC pipeline at Pudimadaka, but it was not been properly used by the officials and TDP leaders. They alleged corruption in distribution and misuse of the package by officials and TDP leaders. Taking these allegations seriously, Telugu Desam leaders and their supporters stopped the MLA at the Gadapa Gadapaku programme, leading to tension for some time. The YSRCP MLA claimed that the officials had committed lapses in the payment of piped compensation. However, the MLA was able to pacify the TDP leaders by making it clear to them that they were not involved in the alleged misuse of the package.
