YSRCP President YS Sharmila has been arrested by the police in connection with the assault on a sub-inspector and a woman constable. Sharmila was stopped by the police while on her way to the SIT office from her residence for not having permission. An argument ensued between Sharmila and the police, leading to her arrest. The police have registered a case against Sharmila under IPC sections 332, 353, 509, and 427 for assaulting the police officers. She is set to be produced in the Nampally court shortly after a medical examination at Gandhi Hospital from Jubilee Hills police station. Elaborate security arrangements have been put in place by the police as YSRCP activists are arriving at the Nampally court. Legal experts predict that Sharmila is likely to be remanded by the judge. Meanwhile, Anil Kumar, visited his wife Sharmila at the Jubilee Hills police station where Sharmila was taken after her arrest.
