On Friday, the Telangana High Court granted conditional approval to the YSR Telangana Party (YSRTP) to hold a day-long hunger strike at Indira Park in Hyderabad. The hunger strike, which aimed to raise awareness about the difficulties faced by the unemployed, was scheduled to take place on April 17 under the auspices of the 'Telangana Students' Action for Vacancies and Employment' (T-SAVE) initiative. T-SAVE is a platform established by YSRTP President Y.S. Sharmila, but the police had refused permission for the protest. YS Sharmila subsequently filed a petition in the High Court, requesting that the police allow the protest. The High Court ruled that no more than 500 individuals could participate in the hunger strike and instructed the organizers to contact the police 48 hours before commencing the protest.
