New Delhi: An Air India pilot is under investigation by India's aviation regulator, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), for allegedly allowing a female friend to stay in the cockpit during a flight from Dubai to Delhi in February. According to the reports, the DGCA has ordered a detailed inquiry into the matter, as the act violates safety norms and could compromise the safety of the flight and passengers. The pilot could face disciplinary action, including suspension or cancellation of his license, depending on the investigation's outcome. The female passenger reportedly remained in the cockpit for the entire three-hour flight.
