Visakhapatnam: Tension escalates at Gitam University in Rushikonda, Visakhapatnam, as officials gear up to construct a fence on government land identified within the varsity premises. The move has caused a stir among the university community, leading to a tense situation when police personnel arrived to begin the construction. According to sources, the police entered the university campus carrying the necessary materials for the fence's construction, leading to an escalation in the already tense situation. The Dental College located in the main campus of the university has already had a one-kilometer-long fence erected. As a result of the impending construction, authorities have imposed restrictions on all roads leading to Gitam varsity since 2 am this morning, with police personnel deployed to the area to prevent any untoward incidents. Barricades have been erected two kilometers before the varsity on Yendada and Rushikonda routes, with only individuals showing valid ID cards being allowed to enter.
