President Droupadi Murmu, before the commencement of Gaj Utsav 2023 at Kaziranga National Park, embarked on a jeep safari and fed the majestic elephants on Friday. Following the Gaj Utsav inauguration, the President addressed the gathering, highlighting the significant bond between nature and humans. The President emphasized that India's identity has always been rooted in a deep respect for nature, and nature and culture have been intertwined for centuries, mutually benefiting one another. Kaziranga and Manas National Parks in Assam are invaluable contributions to India's rich cultural heritage and the world's as well. The Gaj Festival is one of India's largest elephant festivals, aimed at promoting the conservation and protection of Asiatic elephants. This festival is crucial in raising awareness of the importance of preserving these magnificent creatures and their habitats.
