Nellore: The police have placed Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy, the MLA of Nellore Rural, under house arrest after he called for a Jal Deeksha to demand the completion of repair works on the Kalju Bridge in Pottepalem. The police prevented him from performing the Jaladiksha, leading to an argument between Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy's followers and the police. His supporters protested against the police's behavior, raising slogans against them. Expressing his anger towards the police, Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy accused them of overreacting to his call for Jal Deeksha, saying that they had surrounded his entire layout as if something had invaded the area. He further added that he would not be deterred from performing the Jaladiksha and urged the SP and DSP to grant him permission. Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy also criticized Chief Minister Jagan for signing the construction file of the bridge, but not providing any funds for it yet. Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy's house arrest has created a tense atmosphere in Nellore.
