A distressed Indian couple has issued a heartfelt appeal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, requesting him to intervene and secure the release of their daughter, Ariha, who has been under German custody for over a year now. The parents arrived in Mumbai on Thursday with the hope of meeting Indian authorities and expediting the process of bringing their three-year-old daughter back home. Their ordeal began in September 2021 when Germany's child protection services apprehended Ariha after suspecting sexual abuse and subsequently ruling the parents unfit for parenting. The couple is now pleading with PM Modi for assistance in bringing their daughter back from German foster care. According to Ariha's mother, they are only allowed to meet their daughter for an hour every month under the watchful eye of a social worker. The situation has taken a significant toll on the parents' mental and emotional well-being, and they are desperate to be reunited with their child.
