The Centre has taken a decision to honour the late Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, N T Rama Rao, by printing a silver coin worth 100 rupees with his image, according to his daughter, Daggubati Purandeswari. The former union minister shared that she was shown a sample of the coin by Mint officials at her Hyderabad residence, and provided suggestions for its design. Purandeswari had raised the issue with Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman about six months ago, as part of the celebrations for her father's birth centenary. She expressed her satisfaction with the approval from the Mint, as she had personally taken the initiative to make it happen.
