Guntur: Tension escalated in Macherla of Palnadu district on Friday evening after a clash took place between YSRCP and TDP during a rally taken as a part of "Idemi Karma Rashtraniki" program conducted by the opposition TDP. They attacked each other with stones and sticks. However, the police entered the scene and forcibly shifted Julakanti Brahma Reddy from there. After Brahmareddy was shifted from there, the situation got further out of control. It is learnt that some people set fire to the TDP office. Several people were injured in the attacks and were rushed to a hospital. The police reached the spot and dispersed both groups. TDP sources are demanding that cases be registered against the attackers.
