Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh State Assembly on Wednesday passed the 'Dr NTR University of Health Sciences (Amendment) Bill, 2022’ and changed the name to Dr YSR University of Health Sciences. Health Minister Vidadala Rajini introduced the bill in the house. Addressing the Assembly, Minister Vidadala Rajini said that CM YS Jagan has more respect towards NTR than Chandrababu Naidu. She added that YSR increased medical colleges to 11 from 8 and now CM YS Jagan increased the medical colleges to 28. Earlier, TDP leaders protested in the Assembly against the state government's move to change the NTR Health University name to YSR Health University. TDP leaders showered the pieces of paper on Speaker Thammineni Sitaram.
