The name of Palvai Sravanthi as the candidate for the impending Munugode By-elections has finally received approval from the Congress high command. The Telangana PCC had previously suggested the names of two candidates for the Congress, Palvai Sravanthi and Chelamalla Krishna Reddy; however, the AICC has now approved the name of Palvai Sravanthi, the daughter of senior Congress politician Palvai Govardhan Reddy. The Telangana PCC Chief A Revanth Reddy, senior party leaders, and Congress leaders from the Nalgonda district will meet tomorrow, according to sources, to develop a plan for the election campaign and other initiatives. Notification of the Munugode bypoll is likely to be announced by the end of September. The position became vacant as a result of the resignation of the incumbent MLA, Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy, on August 8 after he switched his allegiances from the Congress to the Bharatiya Janata Party.
