Rajeev Chandrasekhar, the Union's minister of state for electronics and information technology, responded to the development by stating that it was an intentional attempt at provocation and went against public expectations for a secure and reliable internet. The entries on Singh's Wikipedia page that stated that the Indian bowler had been chosen to play for the Khalistani national cricket team were modified. According to media sources, the Center thinks that this misinformation would disrupt intercommunal peace and put the cricketer's family in danger of lawlessness.
