Kolkata will soon have the country's first underwater metro, giving commuters a once-in-a-lifetime experience. According to Kolkata Metro Rail Corporation, the East-West Corridor Project should be finished by June 2023. (KMRC). The metro line will have a section below the Hooghly river and connect Salt Lake City to Howrah through Kolkata. The project, which was initially expected to be finished by December 2021, has been delayed as a result of mishaps that occurred when the tunnel was being built in a central Kolkata neighbourhood. Nearly three years after a similar incident occurred nearby in May, several residences experienced cracks during the subterranean excavation. Many passengers will benefit greatly from the project's completion since it will link the crowded Howrah and Sealdah railway stations to the North-South Line of the Kolkata Metro.
