P. Gannavaram's former Konaseema district MLA Pulaparthi Narayanamurthy (68) passed away. He was brought to Srinidhi Hospital in Amalapuram after having a heart attack this morning at his house in P. Gannavaram. While getting treatment there, he passed away. He stood for the TDP in the 1996 by-election from the city assembly seat, and he won, becoming an MLA for the first time. Narayanamurthy contested as an independent candidate in 2004 but lost. He won election in 2014 as a TDP candidate from the P. Gannavaram Assembly Constituency. He was denied a TDP ticket for the 2019 election. He is survived by a wife, a son, and four daughters.
