Gongura Kobbari Kura

Gongura Kobbari Kura


1.Gongura 3 cups
2.Fresh coconut grated 1/2 cup
3.Onion chopped 1
4.Green chillies 3
5.Red chilli powder
6.Salt to taste
7.Turmeric powder
8.Tempering seeds 1 tbsp
9.Dried red chillies 2
10.Garlic cloves 4
12.Curry leaves
13.Coriander leaves
14.Oil 2 tbsp


1.Heat some in a pan,add onions,green chillies and saute till brown colour.
2.Add gongura leaves,tamarind,turmeric powder,salt and mix well,Cover and cook till tender.
3.Add freshly grated coconut and fry for a minute,add some water as required and give it a mix.
4.Cover and cook for few minutes till done.Take another pan,heat some oil and add garlic cloves,tempering seeds,dried red chillies and saute for a minute.Finally pour into gongura mixture and give it a good stir.Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
