Crab Rasam


1.Crab meat
2.Toor dal
3.Turmeric powder
4.Tamarind paste
5.Tomatoes chopped
7.Rasam powder
9.Coriander leaves
11.Mustard seeds
12.Cumin seeds
13.Curry leaves
14.Black Pepper powder


1.Soak toor dal for 35-40 min,cook dal with 4 cups of water and retain the dal water in a separate bowl.
2.Heat a non stick pan,add tamarind paste,turmeric,water,salt,rasam powder,asafoetida and bring the mixture to a boil.
3.Boil till it reduces the half of its original,now add retained toor dal mixture,add coriander leaves,boil it for 3-4 min.
4.Add crab meat and mix well.Heat ghee in a pan,add mustard seeds,cumin seeds,asafoetida,curry leaves,pepper powder and transfer the tempering mixture to rasam,close the lid and cook for a minute.Serve hot with rice.
