1.Baby onions (Shallots)
3.Sesame seeds
4.Poppy seeds
5.Dry coconut powder
6.Mustard seeds
7.Dried red chillies
9.Cumin seeds
10.Fenugreek seeds
11.Onions sliced
12.Salt to taste
13.Curry leaves
14.Ginger garlic paste
15.Turmeric powder
16.Red chilli powder
17.Cumin powder
18.Coriander powder
19.Green chillies
20.Pudina leaves
21.Coriander leaves
22.Tamarind juice
23.Jaggery or sugar


1.Dry roast peanuts,sesame seeds,dry coconut powder,poppy seeds for few minutes and blend into a fine paste.
2.Heat some oil in a pan,add mustard seeds,dried red chillies,cumin seeds,fenugreek seeds,onions,salt,curry leaves and saute till nice red colour.
3.Add ginger garlic paste and fry till raw smell goes off,add turmeric powder,red chilli powder,cumin powder,coriander powder,green chillies,ground paste and some water till gravy becomes liquid.
4.Cover and cook around 30 min till oil floats on top of mixture,add pudina,coriander leaves,tamarind juice,salt and mix well.
5.Now add shallots,jaggery to the pan,cover and cook for another 15 min till onions turns soft.Serve hot with naan or rotis.
