Bhatkal Chicken Biryani Karnataka Special


1.Whole garam masala
2.Bay leaves
4.Salt to taste
5.Turmeric powder
6.Green chillies
7.Ginger garlic paste
8.Pudina leaves
9.Coriander leaves
10.Red chilli powder
11.Garam masala powder (Biryani masala powder)
13.Basmati rice
15.Saffron strands
16.Lemon juice


1.Heat some oil in a pan,add whole garam masala,bay leaves,onions,salt,turmeric,green chillies,ginger garlic paste and saute till raw flavor is all gone.
2.Add tomatoes,pudina,coriander leaves,red chilli powder,garam masala powder and mix well all the ingredients.
3.Now add chicken and give it a good mix,add 1 cup of water and spread the chicken,cook on slow flame.
4.Meanwhile boil enough water by adding some oil,salt.Add soaked basmati rice and cook till 80% done.
5.Add some ghee on top of rice,soaked saffron strands,lemon juice.Now dum the biryani by covering dough to lid.
6.Place on hot tawa and cook on slow flame till done.Open the lid and give gentle mix and serve hot.
