Carrot and Spinach Khichdi


1.Carrot 2 peeled and grated
2.Spinach 1/2 cup shredded
3.Rice 1 cup soaked
4.Ghee 3 tbsp
5.Cumin seeds 1 tbsp
6.Asafoetida 1/4 tbsp
7.Green chillies 2
8.Green Moong dal 1/2 cup with skin soaked
9.Turmeric powder 1/4 tbsp
10.Salt to taste


1.Heat ghee in a pressure pan,add cumin seeds and saute for a minute.
2.Add asafoetida,green chillies,mix well and saute for 1/2 minute.
3.Add carrot and saute on high heat for a minute.
4.Add spinach,green moong and mix well,saute for a minute.
5.Add turmeric powder,salt and mix well.Add 2 cups of water and stir well,bring it to boil.
6.Cover and pressure cook for 3 whistles till done.
7.Drizzle some ghee and serve hot.
