Chole Kasoori Methi


1.Kabuli chana boiled 1 cup
2.Tomato puree
3.Coriander seeds
4.Cinnamon stick
5.Dried red chillies
6.Cumin seeds
7.Kasoori methi
8.Cashew nuts & Water melon seeds soaked and blended into smooth paste
9.Black cloves
10.Turmeric powder
11.Hing (asafoetida)
13.Dry mango powder
14.Garam masala powder
15.Salt to taste


1.Prepare masala paste,blend coriander seeds,cinnamon stick,black cloves,cumin seeds into smooth paste by adding some water as required.
2.Red chilli paste:Soak dried red chillies in water for 20 minutes and blend into a smooth paste.
3.Take a pan pour some oil and heat it,add in cumin seeds,hing,chilli paste,turmeric powder and saute till oil becomes red in color.
4.Add watermelon & cashew nut paste and stir fry.Mix well continuously without sticking to the bottom of pan.
5.Add prepared coriander paste and mix well,cook for 3 minutes on medium flame.
6.Add dry mango powder,garam masala powder both 1/2 tbsp,salt,tomato puree and mix well.Cover and cook for another 3 minutes.
7.Add some water as required for gravy consistency,add boiled chole,kasoori methi 1 cup and mix it well evenly.
8.Cook on medium flame for another 10 minutes,finally add 1 tbsp ghee and serve it with naan or rumali roti.
