Moong Dal with Asparagus


1.Moong dal 1 cup
2.Asparagus 1lb
3.Turmeric powder 1/4 tbsp
4.Salt to taste
5.Oil 1 tbsp
6.Mustard seeds 1/2 tbsp
7.Cumin seeds 1/2 tbsp
8.Fenugreek seeds 10 appr
9.Fennel seeds 1/4 tbsp
10.Pepper powder 1/4 tbsp
11.Asofetida 1/8  tbsp
12.Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
13.Green chillies 1 tbsp
14.Tomatoes chopped 1 cup
15.Curry powder 2 tbsp
16.Red chilli powder


1.Wash Moong dal well and drain and cut the asparagus into 1 inch pieces.
2.Pressure cook moong dal for 1 whistle with salt,turmeric powder.
3.Take a pan pour 1 tbsp oil,add mustard seeds,cumin seeds,fenugreek seeds,fennel powder,pepper powder,asofetida(Inguva),ginger garlic paste,green chillies and saute for 30seconds.
4.Add tomatoes chopped,cover and cook for 10 minutes till tomatoes are cooked.
5.Add Curry Powder and Red Chili Powder to taste.
6.Add Asparagus, mix and cook for 5 minutes,Add cooked Moong Dal, mix, cover and cook.Serve hot..!!!
