Moong Dal Idli


1.Moong dal 1/3 cup soaked
2.Urad dal 1/3 cup soaked
3.Green chilli 1
4.Ginger 1/2 inch
5.Turmeric powder 1/4 tbsp
6.Asofetida a pinch
7.Salt to taste
8.Oil for greasing


1.Grind the urad dal with 3 tbsp of water into a smooth paste.Transfer into a deep bowl.
2.Grind the moong dal with green chillies and ginger and coarsely grinded and mixed with urad dal batter.
3.Add turmeric powder,asofetida and salt.Mix well.
4.Ferment the batter for about 4 hours.
5.Heat sufficient water in a steamer,grease the idly plates with some oil and pour idly batter.
6.Cook for about 10-15 minutes.Serve hot with chutney..!!
