Senagala Pulihora


1.Basmati rice 1 cup boiled and cooked
2.Kabuli chana soaked 1 cup boiled
3.Tamarind pulp 50 gms
4.Cumin seeds 1/2 cup
5.Mustard seeds 1/2 cup
6.Dry red chillies 5
7.Curry leaves
8.Oil 3 tbsp
9.Turmeric powder 1/4 tbsp
10.Ginger garlic paste 1/2 tbsp
11.Peanuts 1/4 cup
12.Salt to taste
13.Roasted Sesame powder 2 tbsp
14.Cumin powder 1 tbsp
15.Coriander leaves 1 bunch


1.Take a pan pour tamarind pulp,bring it to boil.
2.Add sesame powder,cumin powder,turmeric powder,add little amount of water.
3.Cover and boil it.Keep stirring in between.
4.Take another pan pour oil,heat it.Add cumin,mustard seeds,curry leaves,dry red chillies saute for a minute.
5.Add turmeric powder,ginger garlic paste,peanuts and saute for 2 minutes til its done.Now add tamarind pulp to the fried mixture,give it a good mix.
6.Add boiled kabuli chana,salt to taste and mix well.
7.Finally add cooked rice,salt to the mixture and saute it gently..garnish with coriander leaves.Serve hot..!!!
