Ulava Charu


1.Ulavalu  (Soaked for 2 hrs)
4.Green chillies
5.Curry leaves
6.Coriander leaves
7.Salt to taste
8.Red chilli powder
9.Turmeric powder
10.Tempering seeds
13.Fresh cream


1.Pressure cook ulavalu for 4 whistles.
2.Drain the water into a separate bowl and set aside.
3.Heat a pan,add drained water,tamarind,turmeric powder,red chilli powder,salt,tomatoes,green chillies,onions,curry leaves and mix well.
4.Boil for 10 min by covering with a lid and keep aside.
5.Heat some ghee in a pan,add tempering seeds,curry leaves,red chillies and saute for few seconds.
6.Finally transfer the ulava charu in tempering mixture and mix well.Cover and cook for another 5 min.Once done garnish with fresh coriander leaves fresh cream and serve hot.
