Kala Chana with Puri (Navratri Special)

Kala Chana with Puri


1.Bengal gram soaked overnight and boiled in salt water
2.Oil 2 tbsp
3.Cumin powder 1/2 tbsp
4.Coriander powder 1 tbsp
5.Red chilli powder 1 tbsp
6.Turmeric powder 1/4 tbsp
7.Garam masala powder 1 tbsp
8.Salt to taste
9.Wheat flour for puris


1.To make a puri dough,add wheat flour,salt,oil 2 tbsp.Mix well
2.Add water as we needed to prepare a stiff dough.
3.Cover with wet cloth and rest it for 15 minutes.
4.To make kala chana,heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan,1 tbsp coriander powder,1/2 tbsp cumin powder and mix.
5.Add turmeric powder,red chilli powder,garam masala powder.Saute for a minute.
6.Add soaked and boiled bengal gram into this mixture and mix well.
7.Add salt and mix well.Cook on medium heat 5-10 minutes.Remove from the heat set aside.
8.Take small portion of puri dough,shape them into small balls,Gently slide them into puris and slowly drop them in hot oil and fry till they golden and puffed up.
