Punjabi Mutton Curry

Punjabi Mutton Curry


1.Mutton on the bone 750 gms
2.Onions finely chopped
3.Tomatoes finely chopped
4.Yogurt whisked 1 cup
5.Bay leaves
6.Oil 2 tbsp
7.Butter 3 tbsp
8.Cinnamon stick 1 inch
9.Garlic paste 1 tbsp
10.Ginger paste 1 tbsp
11.Coriander leaves chopped
12.Coriander powder 1 tbsp
13.Garam masala powder 1 tbsp
14.Turmeric powder 1/4 tbsp
15.Cloves 4-5
16.Pepper corns 4-5
17.Salt to taste


1.Take a pressure pan pour some oil,butter and heat it.
2.Add cardamoms,cloves,pepper corns,cinnamon stick,bay leaves.Saute for few seconds.
3.Add finely chopped onions and saute till the onions turn golden brown.
4.Add ginger,garlic paste and salt,saute this for few seconds.
5.Add red chilli powder,turmeric powder,coriander powder and saute well.
6.Add chopped tomatoes and cook till soft and pulpy.
7.Now add mutton,mix well.Cook for 10-12 minutes.
8.Add whisked yogurt into mutton and cook for 5-6 minutes more.
9.Add 2 cups water,garam masala powder,chopped coriander leaves and mix well.
10.Bring it to boil and close the pressure pan and cook for 6 whistles.After pressure reduces serve hot..!!!
