Pudina Pongal


1.Pudina leaves 1 cup
2.Rice 1 cup
3.Moong dal 1/2 cup
4.Onion chopped 1
5.Pepper corns 1 tbsp
6.Cumin seeds 1 tbsp
7.Cashew nuts
8.Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
9.Green chillies 3
10.Coriander leaves
11.Fenugreek leaves (Menthikura)
12.Curry leaves 2
13.Salt to taste
14.Ghee 2 tbsp
15.Oil 1 tbsp


1.Take a pan pour some oil,ghee and heat it.
2.Add cumin seeds,pepper corns.curry leaves,cashew nuts,onions.
3.Cover and fry for 2 minutes.
4.Add green chillies,ginger garlic paste,fenugreek leaves,coriander leaves,pudina leaves.Cover and fry for 2 minutes till its done.
5.On other stove take a pressure pan soak dry roasted moong dal,rice for 10 minutes with water.
6.Add the fried mixture into the pressure pan,salt and close the pan.
7.Cook for 3 whistles and rest the pan till steam is completely done.
8.Open the lid and gently turn the rice and transfer into a plate...Serve hot..!!!
