Beerakaya Kandipappu


1.Beerakaya (Ridge gourd)
2.Boiled and mashed Toor dal
4.Dry red chillies
5.Green chillies
6.Mustard seeds
7.Cumin seeds
8.Onion chopped
9.Salt to taste
10.Red chilli powder
11.Turmeric powder
12.Chana dal
13.Tomatoes chopped


1.Take a pan pour some oil and heat it.
2.Add mustard seeds 1 tbsp,cumin seeds 1 tbsp,chana dal 1/2 tbsp,dry red chillies 2,green chillies 3-4,onion chopped 1/2 cup and saute,fry for few minutes.
3.Add 1/2 tbsp turmeric powder.red chilli powder 1/2 tbsp,tomatoes chopped 1 cup and mix well.
4.Add beerakaya pieces 1 cup,salt to taste and mix well.
5.Add some water as we needed and give it a stir,add toor dal paste 1 cup and give it a mix.
6.Cover and cook for 2 minutes till done.Transfer into a bowl,garnish with carrot flowers and serve hot.
