Kanda Bajji


1.Besan flour
2.Kanda (Elephant yam) cut and peeled
3.Oil for deep frying
4.Salt to taste
5.Red chilli powder
6.Cooking soda


1.Take a pan pour some water,pinch of salt,baking soda and add kanda pieces.Bring it to boil for 5 minutes till tender.
2.Transfer the pieces into separate bowl and rest for cool.
3.Meanwhile heat sufficient oil for deep frying.
4.Take a bowl add 1/2 cup besan flour,red chilli powder 1/2 tbsp,salt to taste,pinch of baking soda mix well all the ingredients.
5.Mix well with water and prepare a thick batter,dip the kanda pieces in batter and gently drop them into hot oil and deep fry.
6.Keep turning the pieces in between and deep fry till golden brown colour and crisp.
7.Transfer into a paper napkin and drain excess oil.Serve hot.
