Dry Mutton


1.Coconut grated 1/2 cup
2.Poppy seeds 1/2 tbsp
3.Fennel seeds 1/4 tbsp
4.Cashew nuts 6
5.Pepper corns 7-8
6.Cloves 2
7.Garlic cloves 6
8.Ginger 1 inch piece
9.Cumin seeds 1/2 tbsp
10.Green chillies 4
11.Dry red chillies 6
12.Mutton 450 gms parboiled
13.Bay leaf
14.Onions chopped 1
15.Oil 6 tbsp
16.Curry leaves
17.Turmeric powder
18.Coriander leaves


1.Take a flat pan dry roast coconut grated,poppy seeds,fennel seeds,cashew nuts,pepper corns,cloves,garlic cloves,ginger,cumin seeds,green chillies,dry red chillies, for few minutes.
2.Saute till golden brown colour.Rest the mixture to cool aside.
3Grind the mixture into a smooth paste by adding some water.
4.Meanwhile in the same pan add some more oil and heat it.
5.Add curry leaves,onion chopped and saute till golden brown colour.
6.Add masala paste 1/2 cup as we needed,pinch of turmeric powder and give it a good toss.
7.Add parboiled mutton pieces and some water to coat the mutton with masala paste.
8.Cook till water evaporates and completely done.Transfer into a bowl,garnish with coriander leaves.Serve hot with tandoori roti.
