Mini Samosa


1.Maida 1 cup
2.Butter 2 tbsp
3.Salt to taste
4.Carom seeds 1/2 tbsp
5.Oil for deep frying
6.Potatoes boiled and peeled,mashed
7.Green peas boiled 1/2 cup
8.Coriander seeds roasted 1 tbsp
9.Fennel seeds roasted 2 tbsp
10.Oil 2 tbsp
11.Cumin seeds 1 tbsp
12.Ginger finely chopped 1 inch
13.Green chillies chopped 2
14.Red chilli powder 1/2 tbsp
15.Turmeric powder 1/4 tbsp
16.Chat masala powder 1 tbsp
17.Salt to taste
18.Garam masala powder 1 tbsp
19.Lemon juice 2 tbsp


1.Take a bowl combine maida,butter,salt,carom seeds and mix well.Knead into a smooth dough by using sufficient water.
2.Set aside for for 15 minutes.
3.Crush coriander seeds,fennel seeds with rolling pin and keep aside.
4.Stuffing process:Heat some oil in a pan,add cumin seeds saute till they start crackling.
5.Add ginger chopped,green chillies and saute for another 1 minute,add poatatoes,green peas boiled and mix well.Cook for 2-3 minutes on medium heat.
6.Add red chilli powder,turmeric powder,chat masala powder,salt,crushed coriander seeds,garam masala powder.Mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes.
7.Switch off the flame and add lemon juice,mix well set aside for 10-15 minutes.
8.To make stuffinf,divide the dough into small equal portions and prepare round balls.
9.Apply oil to each balls roll into a oblong shapes,cut into 2 halves and shape them into a cone.Place the filling in cone and fold the edges,apply some water on edges and seal the samosas.
10.Heat sufficient oil for deep frying,deep fry the samosas till golden brown and drain onto a absorbent paper,remove excess oil.Serve hot with your chutney.
