Amla aur beetroot ki Tikki


1.Beetroot boiled and peeled,grated 3 medium
2.Red chilli powder 1/2 tbsp
3.Chat masala powder 1/4 tbsp
4.Oil 1 tbsp
5.Onion finely chopped 1 medium
6.Lemon juice 1 tbsp
7.Potatoes boiled and peeled,mashed 3 medium
8.Indian gooseberries 6 (Usirikayalu)
9.Corn flour 5 tbsp


1.Take a non stick pan,add 1 tbsp oil and heat on a medium flame.
2.When oil is heated,add onion chopped,saute for 2-3 minutes till light brown colour.
3.Add medium beetroot,salt and continue to saute for 7 minutes or till moisture evaporates.
4.Add red chilli powder,chat masala powder and stir well.
5.Add lemon juice and mix well,remove the pan from heat.
the fried beetroot mixture to boiled potatoes and mix well.Add indian
goose berries, 2 tbsp corn flour and mix well.Refrigerate the mixture for 30 minutes.
7.Grease your hands with oil,divide the mixture into 8 portions.
8.Take each portion of the mixture and shape into tikki,repeat the same process for other tikkis and roll them into corn starch.
a non stick tawa on medium heat,place tikkis and cook by drizzling some
oil.Cook for 2 minutes till they are evenly done.Serve hot.
