Karela Chutney


1.Bitter gourd 3 large
2.Salt to taste
3.Oil 2-3 tbsp
4.Mustard seeds 1/4 tbsp
5.Fenugreek seeds 1/8 tbsp
6.Peanuts 1/2 cup
7.Sesame seeds 2 tbsp
8.Turmeric powder 1/4 tbsp
9.Red chilli powder
10.Coriander powder 1 tbsp
11.Cumin powder 1/2 tbsp
12.Lemon juice 1 tbsp


1.Finely chop bitter gourd in grinder.
2.Sprinkle some salt and keep aside for 30 minutes.
3.After that squeeze bitter gourd and remove the juice out of it.
4.Take a pan pour some oil and heat it.
5.Add mustard seeds,fenugreek seeds fry for 15 seconds.
6.Now add sesame seeds,peanut and allow them to fry for few minutes till they change in light brown colour.
7.Add squeezed bitter gourd and give it a mix.
8.Add red chilli powder,turmeric powder,cumin powder,coriander powder and give it a stir.
9.Cover and cook till bitter gourd is done,remove the cover and mix well.
10.Cook until it obtains crispyness.add lemon juice and serve hot.
