Masale Bath


1.Basmati rice 2 cups
2.Coriander seeds 3 tbsp
3.Tomato 1 chopped
4.Cumin seeds 2 tbsp
5.Peanuts 4 tbsp
6.Cinnamon stick 1 inch
7.Garam masala powder 2 tbsp
8.Cloves 5
9.Green chillies 3
10.Bay leaves 2
11.Red chilli powder  2 tbsp
12.Turmeric powder 1/2 tbsp
13.Onion 1 sliced
14.Potato 1 cubed
15.Cauliflower 1 cup
16.Oil 3 tbsp
17.Curry leaves
18.Mustard/Cumin seeds 1 tbsp both
19.Pinch of hing
20.Green peas 1 cup
21.Ginger paste 2 tbsp


1.Wash and soak rice for 30 minutes.
2.Dry roast coriander seeds,cumin seeds,cinnamon stick,cloves till it changes its color.
3.Rest the mixture to cool down,blend into a coarse powder.
4.Heat oil in a pan,add in bay leaf,mustard seeds,cumin seeds,pinch of hing,curry leaves,onion sliced.Saute till nice golden color.
5.Add turmeric powder,ginger paste and fry for a minute.
6.Now add ground masala powder,garam masala powder,red chilli powder and fry for 2 minutes.
7.Add potato,cauliflower and sprinkle some salt.Add in some water and cook for 5 minutes.
8.Add rice,water,chopped tomatoes,peanuts,salt to taste,Mix well all the ingredients and cook for 5 minutes on high flame.
9.After 5 minutes reduce the heat and cook for another 10 minute son low flame.
10.Cook till done,now off the stove and rest it for another 5 minutes,micro wave green peas for a minute.
11.Sprinkle green peas on cooked rice and garnish with coriander leaves,Serve hot.
