Masoor Dal Kichidi


1.Rice 1 cup
2.Masoor dal whole 1/4 cup
3.Oil 1 tbsp
4.Pinch of hing
5.Cumin seeds 1 tbsp
6.Garlic chopped 1 tbsp
7.Tomato chopped 1
8.Turmeric powder 1/4 tbsp
9.Coriander powder 1/2 tbsp
10.Red chilli powder 1/4 tbsp
11.Garam masala powder 1/4 tbsp


1.Wash and soak masoor dal for 4 hours,wash and soak rice for 30 minutes.
2.Take a pressure pan pour oil and heat it.
3.Add in cumin seeds,chopped garlic and saute till garlic turn into nice golden color.
4.Add hing,turmeric powder and tomatoes.Mix well.
5.Add coriander powder,red chilli powder,garam masala powder and give it a mix.
6.Add soaked rice,masoor dal and mix well evenly.Add water,salt to taste and give it a stir,cover and cook for 2 whistles.Serve hot with raita.
