Idly fry (Idli upma)


1.Idlies 4
2.Oil 1 tbsp
3.Mustard seeds 1 tbsp
4.Cumin seeds 1 tbsp
5.Pinch of asafoetida
6.Curry leaves
7.Turmeric powder 1/4 tbsp
8.Red chilli powder 1/4 tbsp
9.Green chillies 2
10.Coriander leaves for garnishing
11.Onion chopped finely 1


1.Take a pan pour 1 tbsp oil and heat it.
2.Add in mustard seeds,cumin seeds and saute till they start spluttering.
3.Add curry leaves,hing,chopped onions and mix well.
4.Add in green chillies,turmeric powder and saute till onions or soft and translucent.
5.Add pinch of red chilli powder angive it a stir.Finally add left over idlies cut into cubes.Mix well.
6.Add pinch of salt and give it a good stir,sprinkle some water,coriander leaves,green capsicum (optional).Mix well.
7.Cover and cook for 2 minutes till done.Serve hot.
