Kolhapuri Chicken


1.Chicken leg pieces 1 lb
2.Turmeric powder 1/2 tbsp
3.Red chilli powder 1 tbsp
4.Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
5.Lemon juice 1 tbsp
6.Garam masala powder 1/2 tbsp
7.Salt to taste
8.Oil 3 tbsp
9.Cumin seeds 1 tbsp
10.Coriander seeds 1 tbsp
11.Sesame seeds 2 tbsp
12.Poppy seeds 1 tbsp
13.Garlic chopped 2 tbsp
14.Whole garam masala
15.Onion 1 sliced
16.Coconut powder 3 tbsp
17.Degi mirch powder 1 tbsp


1.Marination: Wash chicken pieces and remove skin and fat.
ginger garlic paste,red chilli powder,garam masala powder,turmeric
powder,salt,lemon juice and mix well all the ingredients and marinate
for 30 minutes.
3.Masala preparation:Heat oil add in cumin
seeds,whole garam masala,coriander seeds,sesame seeds,poppy
seeds,chopped garlic and cook till it turns light brown colour.
4.Add tomatoes to blender,add onion masala,some water and grind into a smooth paste.
5.Gravy preparation:Heat up oil add ground masala paste,add red chilli powder,garam masala powder and cook for 5 minutes.
6.Now add marinated chicken and add some water as we needed,cook for 20 minutes till chicken is completely cooked.Serve hot.
