1.Maida 2 cups
2.Moong dal 1/4 cup + 3/4 cup water to boil
3.1/2 cup water to mix in dal
4.Red chilli powder 1 tbsp
5.Sesame seeds 1 tbsp
6.Turmeric powder 1/2 tbsp
7.Coriander powder 2 tbsp
8.Salt to taste
9.Carom seeds 1/2 tbsp
10.1/2 cup water to make dough


1.Wash moong dal 2-3 times under cold water and drain off.Pressure cook the moong dal with 3/4 cups of water for 2 whistles.
2.Take maida in a pot and place it in a idly cooker containing some water.Steam it for 15 minutes.
3.Now strain of the maida using a stariner.
4.Take boiled moong dal,to that add water and mash well.
5.Take maida to that add all dry spices,mix well.
6.Add moong dal paste and start to make it into a dough.
7.Now wet your hand with cold water and take small dough,knead well the dough.
8.Put dough ball in chakali mould and start making a chakali on wax paper.
9.Deep fry chakali until golden brown and serve.
