Vegetable Khichdi


1.Rice 3/4 cup
2.Moong dal 1/4 cup
3.Turmeric powder 1/4 tbsp
4.Hing 1/4 tbsp
5.Garam masala powder 1 tbsp
6.Bay leaves 3-4
7.Sesame seeds 2 tbsp
8.Cumin seeds 1 tbsp
9.Ghee 1 tbsp
10.Oil 1 tbsp
11.Mustard seeds 1 tbsp
12.Garlic 2 tbsp
13.Curry leaves
14.Dried red chillies 6-7
15.Potatoes diced 1/4 cup
16.Cauliflower 1/4 cup
17.Green Capsicum 1/4 cup
18.Corns 1/4 cup
19.Green peas 1/4 cup
20.Carrots 1/4 cup
21.Green chillies 3-4


1.Take a blender add in bay leaf,sesame seeds,cumin seeds and blend well.
2.Wash rice and moong dal together and soak for 1 hour.
3.Pressure cook rice and moong dal mixture.
4.To that add turmeric powder,hing,garam masala,ground masala powder and mix well.
5.Add all veggies and green chillies,salt and mix well.Cook for 2-3 whistles.
6.After cooking let the pressure release by itself.Meanwhile heat ghee in a pan.
7.Add cumin,mustard,dried red chillies,curry leaves and cook till garlic turns into light golden color.
8.Now pour tempering mixture into khichidi and mix well.Serve hot.
