Chana Masala


2.Oil 3 tbsp
3.Pinch of asafetida
4.Cumin seeds 1 tbsp
5.Besan flour 1 tbsp
6.Tomato 1 large
7.Ginger paste 1 tbsp
8.Green chillies chopped 1 tbsp
9.Coriander powder 2 tbsp
10.Turmeric powder 1/2 tbsp
11.Red chilli powder 1/2 tbsp
12.Salt to taste
13.Garam masala powder 1/4 tbsp
14.Coriander leaves 1 tbsp


1.Wash the chickpeas well,blend the tomatoes,green chillies and ginger to make puree.
2.Heat up oil in a pan,add in cumin seeds,hing.
3.When seeds starts crackling add besan flour and stir well.Fry for a minute.
4.Add the tomato puree,coriander powder,turmeric,red chilli powder and cook for 4 minutes.
5.Cook till the mixture releases oil.
6.Add chickpeas,water and mix well.Cook for 7- minutes on medium heat.
7.Cook till done,add garam masala,coriander leaves and cook for another 1 minute.Serve hot.
