1.Maida 1 cup
2.Salt to taste
3.Oil for deep frying
4.Moong dal 1/4 cup
5.Fennel seeds 1 tbsp
6.Coriander seeds 1 tbsp
7.Red chilli flakes 1 tbsp
8.Ginger powder 1/4 tbsp
9.Mango powder 1/2 tbsp
10.Pinch of asafoetida


1.Mix the flour,salt and oil.
2.Add in cold water and prepare a smooth dough,rest aside for 15 minutes.
3.Grind the moong dal dry until it becomes a powder.
4.Mix 1 tbsp of oil and dal powder in a frying pan and roast on medium heat for 2-3 minutes.
5.Turn off the heat,add all the spices and mix well.Rest the mixture to cool.
6.Add 2 tbsp water and mix well,rest aside for 10 minutes.
7.Take the dough and knead it for few minutes.
8.Divide the dough into equal parts and flatten the dough,mold the dough into a cup and fill in stuff in center.
9.Pull the edges of dough to wrap the dal filling.Repeat the same process for others.Meanwhile heat sufficient oil for deep frying,gently drop them in hot oil and deep fry on medium flame till golden brown.
