Cabbage Kofta

Cabbage Kofta


1.Cabbage 2 cups shredded
2.Besan flour 3/4 cup
3.Cumin seeds 1/2 tbsp
4.Coriander leaves 2 tbsp
5.Ginger shredded 1 tbsp
6.Green chilli 2
7.Salt to taste
8.Oil to fry
9.Tomatoes 3 medium
10.Ginger 1/2 inch
11.Curd 2 tbsp
12.Turmeric powder 1/2 tbsp
13.Coriander powder 1 tbsp
14.Paprika 1/2
15.Red capsicum 1/4
16.Sugar 1 tbsp


1.Mix together all the kofta ingredients,adjust besan flour as needed to make soft dough.
2.Heat the oil on medium heat.
3.Now prepare the dumplings from mixture and drop them in hot oil,deep fry.
4.Fry the koftas in small batches,Fry the koftas until they turn golden-brown all around.
5.Blend the tomatoes, green chilies and ginger to make a puree.Heat some oil in a pan.
6.Add cumin seeds,asafoetida and besan flour.Stir for few minutes.Add the tomato puree, coriander powder, turmeric, paprika, and cook on
medium heat until the tomato mixture starts leaving the oil and reduces
to about half in quantity.
7.Next add yogurt and cook for another minute.Add about 1½ cups of water and the salt. As it comes to boil reduce the
heat to medium-low and let the gravy cook for few minutes.Add the prepared koftas and let it simmer for another 7 to 8 minutes.Turn of the heat and add coriander leaves.Serve hot.
