Shastrala Upma


1.Shastralu (Semiya)
2.Green peas
3.Carrot chopped
5.Potatoes chopped
6.Cashew nuts
7.Uppudu Biyyam
9.Coriander leaves
10.Onion chopped
11.Salt to taste
12.Pepper powder
13.Lemon juice


1.Take 2 cups of boiled rice in 1 cup normal rice and soak for about 5 hours.
2.Grind it and keep aside for fermentation over night.
3.Add this batter in idli molds and prepare idlis it takes 2-3 minutes for preparation.
4.Now crush the prepared idlis and prepare thin noodles (semiya)
5.Then dry this noodles in sun for 1 hour so that they become very hard.
6.Now boil the semiya in hot water,add some oil.Drain the semiya with a strainer and keep aside.
7.Meanwhile take another pan,add in onion,carrot,potatoes,capsicum,cashew nuts,green peas,salt to taste,pepper powder and mix well
8.Cook on medium flame for 10 minutes.Finally add boiled semiya in it and give it a mix,cook for another 2 minutes.Serve hot.
