Cabbage & Tomato Chutney


1.Cabbage chopped finely
2.Tomatoes chopped
3.Tamarind pulp
4.Green chillies
5.Cumin seeds
6.Garlic paste
7.Tempering seeds
8.Fenugreek seeds
9.Curry leaves
10.Dried red chillies
11.Salt to taste


1.Take a pan pour some oil and heat it.
2.Add green chillies and saute for few minutes till they turn into light brown color.
3.Add tomatoes chopped 1 cup and saute well,boil for a while and keep aside.
4.In a mortar add in fried green chillies and salt,crush them into nice coarse paste.
5.Add tamarind pulp 2 tbsp and crush well.Now add boiled tomatoes,cumin seeds and crush,add garlic paste 1 tbsp.Finally add cabbage chopped and mix well.
6.Meanwhile add tempering seeds to hot oil (urad dal,mustard seeds,cumin seeds,chana dal)fenugreek seeds,dried red chillies,garlic paste,curry leaves and saute for couple of minutes.
7.Finally add ground chutney to the fried mixture and mix well evenly.Serve hot.
