1.Banana flower
3.Chana dal
4.Mustard seeds
5.Sesame seeds
6.Turmeric powder
7.Salt to taste
9.Curry leaves
10.Dried red chillies
11.Urad dal


1.First peel the banana flower,pull out the string like filaments inside the flower and keep the outer layers for cooking.
2.Blend roughly the outer layers of flower with some salt,now take a strainer and wash the ground flowers a few times with water thoroughly,to reduce the bitter taste.
3.Transfer into a bowl,take a pan add flower paste,add in turmeric powder,salt to taste and mix well.
4.Bring it to boil with some water till tender by covering with a lid.Cook for 15 min.
5.Now blend dried red chillies,mustard seeds,sesame seeds into smooth powder.
6.Heat some oil,add in peanuts,urad dal,chana dal and saute for few minutes.Add in curry leaves,now strain out the excess water for ground flower,add to fried mixture.Add some tamarind juice and mix well.
7.Add mustard masala paste to the pan and mix it well,cook for few minutes,transfer into a bowl and serve hot.
