Aloo Beerakaya Curry


1.Beerakayalu peeled
2.Potatoes boiled and mashed
3.Onion chopped 1
4.Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
5.Coconut slices
6.Curry leaves
7.Whole garam masala
8.Tempering seeds 1 tbsp
9.Green chillies 3
10.Cashew nuts 10 grams
11.Coriander leaves
12.Salt to taste
13.Red chilli powder
14.Turmeric powder a pinch
15.Oil 3 tbsp


1.Take a pan pour some oil and heat it,add cumin,mustard seeds,curry leaves,ginger garlic paste and saute for few seconds ill they start spluttering.
2.Add potato mashed and mix well,add turmeric powder,red chilli powder,salt and give it a mix.Fry for few minutes and switch off the stove.
3.Now stuff the fried mixture into beerakaya pieces and keep aside.
4.Take another pan pour some oil and heat it,add onions,green chillies,ginger garlic paste and saute till raw smell goes off.
5.Now add stuffed beerakayalu to the frying pan,cover and cook for few minutes till tender.
6.Add red chilli powder,salt,coconut paste (cashewnuts,coconut,whole garam masala) and mix well.Add some water as required and mix it well.
7.Cover and cook till done,transfer into a bowl and garnish with coriander leaves.Serve hot.
