Masala Kakarakaya Bajji


1.Kakarakayalu 1/4 kilo
2.Cumin seeds 1/2 tbsp
3.Vaamu 1/4 tbsp
4.Sesame seeds 2 tbsp
5.Besan flour 1 cup
6.Rice flour 1/2 cup
7.Peanuts 1 cup
8.Onion chopped 1
9.Salt to taste
10.Red chilli powder
11.Turmeric powder
12.Baking soda a pinch
13.Oil for deep frying


1.Dry roast peanuts,sesame seeds,cumin seeds for few minutes and transfer into a bowl.
2.In the same pan add 1/2 tbsp oil,fry onions for a minute,meanwhile grind dry roasted ingredients into a coarse powder.
3.Add fried onions,red chilli powder,turmeric,salt and blend once again.
4.Now stuff the mixture in boiled kakarakayalu and keep aside,prepare besan flour batter by adding water,vaamu,salt,rice flour.
5.Heat sufficient oil for deep frying.Dip the stuffed kakarakayalu in batter and drop them in hot oil and deep fry till nice golden brown colour.Serve hot.
