Gutti Dondakaya


1.Dondakayalu 1/4 kilo cut into 2 halves,boiled with turmeric,salt
2.Fresh coconut grated 1/2 cup
3.Gasagasalu 2 tbsp
4.Green chillies 5
5.Onion chopped 1
6.Whole garam masala
7.Coriander seeds 1 tbsp
8.Cumin seeds 1/2 tbsp
9.Turmeric powder a pinch
10.Salt to taste
11.Curry leaves
12.Oil 2 tbsp


1.Heat a pan,dry roast green chillies,whole garam masala,cumin seeds,coriander seeds,coconut,gasagasalu and fry for few minutes.
2.Rest aside to cool down the mixture and blend into a smooth paste.
3.Now stuff the ground paste into dondakayalu and keep aside in a separate plate.
4.Heat some oil in a pan,add onions,green chillies,curry leaves and saute for few minutes.
5.Add stuffed dondakayalu,cover and cook for few minutes till tender.Keep turning in between with a spatula.
6.Finally after done transfer into a bowl and serve hot.
